The first meeting of the Programme Council of the Health Communication Congress, held as part of the activities of the Stop Obesity Partnership, is behind us.
During the meeting, experts discussed the role of social communication in shaping pro-health attitudes, the challenges of public health, and the need for integrated actions to improve awareness, prevention, and effective treatment of obesity.
Discussions also focused on the conceptual and organizational framework of the first edition of the Health Communication Congress, which will take place in 2026.
Topics covered included, among others:
- the importance of health as a civilizational value,
- the responsibility of the media in health communication,
- health education and early prevention,
- building partnerships between the public sector, academia, business, and civil society.

The first meeting of the Programme Council marked an important step in preparing for the Congress, which aims to become a nationwide platform for exchanging experiences and best practices in health communication, bringing together experts from academia, the media, public administration, and the healthcare sector.
