Experts on Systemic Solutions in Obesity Treatment

How can we effectively combat obesity and what solutions does the healthcare system need to provide real support for patients? These questions were addressed by experts during the 9th “Vision of Health – Diagnosis and the Future” Congress.

The panel discussion on obesity treatment featured: Dr. Małgorzata Gałązka-Sobotka representing the Partnership, Prof. Grzegorz Dzida, Prof. Lucyna Ostrowska from the Polish Association for the Study of Obesity, Prof. Mariusz Wyleżoł, Prof. Paweł Bogdański, Ewa Godlewska from the Foundation for the Treatment of Obesity (FLO), and Kuba Sękowski from the Ministry of Health.

Experts agreed that effective obesity treatment requires recognizing it as a chronic disease and ensuring patients have access to comprehensive, integrated care. They also emphasized the urgent need to include the KOS-BAR program in the package of guaranteed healthcare services. This solution would provide patients with full support – from diagnosis and preoperative preparation, through surgery, to postoperative and psychological care.
